The Thiruppavai, composed by Andal, describes her observance of a vrat akin to the “Karthiyayani” vrat. Beginning on the first day of Margazhi, she presents a new Pasuram each day throughout the month. The collection consists of thirty verses that together form the Thiruppavai text. Recitation of these verses is believed to invoke Lord Narayana’s blessings.
